All sections may be updated with more information as I, Juniper, research and study. Please be patient. There are different 'types' of Dissociative Identity Disorder(DID). These being Partial-Dissociative Identity Disorder(P-DID), Other Specified Dissociative Disorder-1a(OSDD-1a), and Other Specified Dissociative Disorder-1b(OSDD-1b). There is also 'questioning systems' and as the name states, it's individuals questioning if they are a system or not.Dissociative Identity Disorder is a disorder that causes you to feel detached from your body and mind. DID forms from repetitive trauma during early childhood that causes the brain to split different 'personalities' also known as alters or alternate identities. These alternate identities are to help the body cope with the trauma faced. Each identity is it's own being and should be treated as such. DID is NOT roleplaying or having friends in your head, it is a serious disorder that affects many and is often demonized by media.Partial-Dissociative Identity Disorder is similar to DID but is also very different. For someone with P-DID, alter switches may be less intense and less frequent, or vice versa. From a friend who has P-DID, they explained that they do not have a headspace. This is common occurrance for all systems in general. They also explained that their host is a constant in front. This section is subject to change often due to information still being studied.Other Specified Dissociative Disorder-1a&1b(OSDD-1a&1b) share many aspects of DID but lack a specific part of it. OSDD-1a lessens or lacks alter differentially and OSDD-1b lessens or lacks amnesia. This section is subject to change often due to information still being studied. All systems are different and experience different things. Stereotypes can harm a system when comparing. All systems and alters are valid.Though, in response to the paragraph above, systems known as 'Endogenic systems' are NOT valid "systems". An Endogenic system is when someone believes they are a system without trauma. This is not a possibility because the main criteria to being a system is trauma. It has been a common thing where endogenics have claimed to "system hop" which is also not a possible thing. TL;DR Endogenic systems are not real and are not valid.
